  • Having emerged as one of the premier events for industry professionals, the 8th Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) turned the international spotlight onto Greece once again, as the host of the world’s largest crewed yacht charter show. It is worth noting that yachts measuring 24 meters and above in length have the right to participate in the exhibition, making the MEDYS the only sector event of similar scope in Greece that is exclusively addressed to the upper segment of luxury yachting. At this year’s Show, 92 yachts with a cumulative LOA of 3.5 kilometers were present, with a waiting list (due to limited space in the port of Nafplion) that surpassed the numbers of every previous year. In order to fully grasp the MEDYS’ size, it is worth considering that the number of participating yachts far exceeded that of comparable shows.

  • For over 20 years, the Rodos Cup regatta has been held by the Rhodes Yacht Club. It began as a «family» regatta of 12 crews, and now more than 100 teams take part in it every year. This race is very exciting because of the large number of crews. You can check the level of your team and evaluate your qualities as a yachtsman, competing with many other crews from different countries. The level of your preparation is not important! You can learn the basics of yachting under the guidance of an experienced skipper. The regatta attracts not only with the competitive races and high-class rivals but also with the beautiful route. The race traditionally starts on the island of Kos and finishes on Rhodes. Yachts pass along the most beautiful islands of the Dodecanese archipelago — Kos, Kalymnos, Nisiris, Symi, Rhodes.

Deputy Minister Giannis Vroutsis will be present at the starting line to signal the commencement of the sailing race. He highlighted the historic significance of the Andros race and the unique challenges it poses to sailors, especially navigating through the narrow passages of Cape Kafireas. The race has gained a reputation as “the toughest race,” showcasing the skill, courage, and endurance of the sailors. The 56th International Sailing Race of Andros includes three courses, one from Vouliagmeni to Andros and two others with starting points at the beautiful Chora of Andros. For the latter two, there will be a live streaming broadcast, a first for open-sea racing in Greece.
