Aegean 600

Amid clear blue skies, warm sun, and a brisk Meltemi breeze buffeting Lavrion at the Olympic Marine venue, yesterday was day one of the 4th edition of the AEGEAN 600, organized by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC) and Olympic Marine.

The largest fleet ever assembled in the 4-year history of this 605-mile race – 69 monohulls and multihulls hailing from 24 nations – are being sailed by hundreds of sailors from all over the world.

Another win for the Blue in White fleet goes on record at an international level, with IY 11.98 SUSANO’O achieving 3rd place in its category at the Aegean 600, after a very challenging race which saw 29 competitors from the 69 in total abandoning the race due to extreme conditions and damages. The perseverance and the quality of the crew made the difference and saw that SUSANO’O made it to the finish line and ensured a place at the podium.
